Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday reviewed the flood situation with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, following the forecast by the Meteorological Department.
The weather department issued a warning that there might be heavy to very heavy rainfall over isolated parts of the State, especially in the erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal and Khammam.
Massive flooding and water-logging are likely to occur in low-lying areas. Uprooting of trees and electric poles can occur leading to disruption of normal activities.
Reservoirs, tanks and streams may overflow causing inundation of low-lying areas and cause low bridges and causeways to overflow, posing threat to people.
The Chief Secretary directed all the Superintendents of Police and District Collectors to be on alert and to keep a close watch on the situation. All the officers have been directed to be available in the headquarters and take all measures to ensure that no loss of life or damage to properties occurs.
